# Choosing Sim

## Sim Card Requirements

All the Buddy trackers only take 4G Nano sim cards from any carrier in Australia.

Make sure you have obtained the correct 4G NANO (8.8 x 12.3 mm) sim card.

* SIM card has to be activated
* SIM card needs data (at least 75 MB per month)
* SIM card has SMS receiving and sending capability
* SIM card has voice calling and receiving ability

Here in Australia, we have 3 main telecommunication companies: Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

They are reliable since most of us have tried the SIM cards from these three networks. However, there are more options offered by Amaysim, Exetel, Sim2Fly, Orange, Boost Mobile, Gotalk, Coles Prepaid, Dodo, Hello Mobile, True Move, and some others that act as a reseller, but they all work through the three main operators we mentioned above.

Australian operators offer competitive pricing, fast internet speed and wide data coverage, which gives you the flexibility to choose any sim card that suits your needs and budget. All networks offers 4G Nano SIM cards so you don’t need to worry about My Buddy Gard device-compatibility issues.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.mybuddygard.com.au/buddy-docs/byo/choosing-sim.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
