{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usPlhksy5hc>" %}

Follow these steps to clean your Buddy Secure or Buddy Watch charging port for optimal charging performance:

### Step 1: Inspect the Charging Port

* Flip the watch over and inspect the charging port for any oxidation (greenish buildup) or dead skin particles.

### Step 2: Use the Supplied Rubber

* Take the rubber that comes with the watch, designed for cleaning the charging port.

### Step 3: Rub the Charging Port

* Gently rub the charging port with the rubber to remove any residue. Continue rubbing until the oxidation or buildup is gone.

### Step 4: Alternative Option

* If you don’t have the supplied rubber, you can use a regular pencil eraser to clean the port.

### Step 5: Clean Excess Residue

* After rubbing, clean up any excess residue around the charging port to ensure it’s free of debris.

### Step 6: Test Charging

* Once the charging port is clean, place your Buddy Watch on the charger and test to ensure it is charging effectively.

By keeping your charging port clean, you'll maintain maximum performance and ensure a smooth charging process.

**Enjoy your day!**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.mybuddygard.com.au/buddy-docs/buddy-trackers/setup-new-buddy-watch/settings/how-to-clean-your-buddy-secure-buddy-watch-charging-port.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
